Diocesan Lenten Youth Programme

May I take this opportunity to thank all Rev. Fathers and Sisters for their generous contribution for the successful completion of the ‘Diocesan Youth Lenten Programme’ which was held on 19th & 20th March at Calvary Shrine, Hiniduma.
The total number of attendees was 110. On the first day the youth had an opportunity to participate in a Bible lesson on Lent. These sessions were conducted by Rev. Fr. Camillus Cooray and Rev. Fr. Santiago (Claretian) in Sinhala and Tamil media. In the evening there was a street drama performed by the students of Loyola College, Negombo followed by a Holy Hour, conducted by Rev. Fr. Dinesh Keerthesinghe from the same College. The programme began on the second day with the Sunday Mass followed by the Way of the Cross. It was conducted in both Sinhala and Tamil languages.
The presence and guidance of our Diocesan Administrator, Very Rev. Fr, Nihal Nanaykkara, for the success of this event, is remembered with gratitude.
I must sincerely thank the administrator of the Shrine, Rev. Fr. Shelton Fernando and Sr. Superior of the Hiniduma Convent, Sr. Rosita. I appreciate their fullest cooperation and support for the job well done.

O All-merciful Lord, Who loves us all, help our Youth, and guide them to truly give and receive compassion, and deliver them from the evil that may tempt them!  Warm the hearts of our Youth with Your grace that they may humbly glorify the Holy Name  of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen!
