The above mentioned chart depicts the grant given by the Diocese for each of the Sunday schools of the Diocese to provide some refreshments to teachers and children.
This grant will cover up to certain extent the expenses incurred by the parish priests in providing some refreshments to the children and teachers.
We thank all the former Bishops of the Diocese and at present the Administrator, Very Rev. Fr. Nihal Nanayakkara, for looking into the needs of Sunday Schools and make available some fund by which the parish priests are eased somewhat with their burden.
Frankly, this is a “must” need for Dioceses like ours since our children come from distant places to the parish church for Sunday Schools.
We are also grateful to the Procurator General, Rev. Fr. Raja Ratnapriya for his generous gesture in initiating this tradition.
